Behavioral Therapist Responsibilities
- Assess client needs and create customized solutions for behavior issues while establishing individual targets and goals.
- Develop treatment plans aligned with the patient’s values, goals, and health, incorporating feedback from the patient’s treatment team and support system.
- Utilize evidence-based methods to deliver group and individual treatment to patients and their families.
- Prepare patient documentation and communicate relevant clinical information to the patient, referring provider, and treatment team.
- Conduct regular phone wellness checks to inquire about patients’ behavioral health and medication compliance.
Behavioral Therapist Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED and a bachelor’s degree in counseling, social work, or a related field.
- Current and unrestricted state license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or equivalent.
- A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a clinical setting working in behavioral health.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications are required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
